“Selling Artist’s One Day”, it is a concept
to believe artist, but not his artwork;
to believe what you cannot see, but not something you can see;
to believe in the future, not only now.
—— Pak Sheung Chuen
In his artwork “One Day of the Artist’s Life”, Pak Sheung Chuen presents one unpredictable day of his life to be collected. Which one to believe, the one you will see, or the one that already existed? Which one is more charming, the future full of possibilities, or the transient present?
Pak Sheung Chuen spent a day in the Hong Kong studio of the collector William Lim, from March 14 to March 15, 2009. The time and space of that day was preserved, and will be presented in The Shop, Beijing from December 19, 2009.
Welcome to The Shop during 10:00 to 18:00, December 19, 2009.
The day is nothing unusual, but you may come across Xu Li writing letters for his clients in traditional Chinese calligraphy (“The Letter Commission” will start from 10:00 am）
And by 16:00, the conversation of artist Pak Shueng Chuen, collector William Lim about “One Day of the Artist’s Life” may let you imagine “A Day ” that you will have.
